Riobamba
City Hall
It was built by Natale Tormen, the facade of
this building has a neoclassical style with high ceilings and very wide rooms,
spacious corridors decorated with strong and sober pillars. It was rebuilt and
expanded in 1990 by the architect Gonzáles.
Central
Bank Museum
This place is located on JoséVelóz Street,
between Carabobo and Juan Montalvo Street. There is a lot of really interesting
artifacts such as: antique books, videos, music and a collection of photographs
from the late 19th century and early 20th century, about
the province of Chimborazo.
The
Cathedral Rock Museum
It is located on 5 de Junio Street, between
Velóz and Orozco Street, next to the Cathedral and the bishop's house. It
stores religious writings about churches and buildings that have been found and
restored about the old Riobamba. The museum occasionally holds art and plastic
exhibitions.
Concept’s
Monastery Museum
This religious art museum belongs to the
convent of concept mothers. It is one of the jewels of culture, history and
religious tradition of the old Riobamba. It is distributed in 14 rooms, where a
great number of sculptures are exhibited: canvases, furniture, ornamental
clerical elements weave in gold and silver, and objects of the 17TH and
18THI century. La custodia of old Riobamba is special and unique,
considered as one of the most beautiful art pieces of the Hispanic American
religious goldsmith, because of its exceptional wrought, the pure expressions
of its components and majestic structure, it is 1.5 meter in height. The museum
is located on Argentinos 19-80 and Larrea Street.
